This is a new initiative from my side and would be a permanent fixture in my blog. I always wondered about lack of word power when trying to communicate in Tamil. Each language has Plethora of words having similar meanings. When you learn more such words you get to play around with the words and you tend to master the language. English Teachers in schools advice children to read few words every day from a dictionary. But no Tamil teacher has ever asked to read few Tamil words from a dictionary every day. There were days I used to read so many words in English for my GRE preparation. For some time now I wondered whether a similar pattern can be created for Tamil words. Even though there are so many resources around for Tamil, online, I thought it would be easier for people if we could adopt a style similar to Word Power /Word list books in English which gives a set of words with same or similar meaning. This makes reader to learn more words easily. I have tried to make a similar attempt here by giving a list of similar words.
What is the first word to choose? that was a big question today, I thought it should be universal, so it came down to 2 options God or Love. And I decided to go with Love .
List of 20 words associated with Love.
1.அன்பு - Love, attachment;
2.அளி - Love;
3.அவத்தை – Condition of mind in love
4.அணி - Love;
5.காயகம் Delusion in love, libidinous fascination;- மோகமயக்கம்.
6.கைக்கிளை Unreciprocated sexual love, as one-sided; ஒருதலைக் காமம்.
7.சங்கம் Friendship, love, attachment;
