ஒரு நாள் வாரலன்; இரு நாள் வாரலன்;
பல் நாள் வந்து, பணிமொழி பயிற்றி, என்
நன்னர் நெஞ்சம் நெகிழ்த்த பின்றை,
வரை முதிர் தேனின் போகியோனே-
ஆசு ஆகு எந்தை-யாண்டு உளன்கொல்லோ?
வேறு புலன் நல் நாட்டுப் பெய்த
ஏறுடை மழையின் கலிழும், என் நெஞ்சே.
He didn’t come one day or two days,
He came many days,
spoke polite words and when my heart melted,
he left me the next day
like the mountain honeycomb
Which falls downs once it is mature
He who became support to my heart
Where is he now?
Like the rain which poured in distant land
Spreads trouble elsewhere,
My heart is troubled now.

Mountain – mature – honey – he went away
ஆசு ஆகு எந்தை யாண்டு உளன் கொல்லோ
Support – become – my lord – reside– doubtful
வேறு புலன் நல் நாட்டுப் பெய்த
Other – land – good – country – pour
ஏறுடை மழையின் கலிழும் என் நெஞ்சே.
Spread – rain – troubled – my – heart
