Third of the ten poems from Nachiyar Thirumozhi – Vin Neela Mellappu (sky blue cloth). Love theme of Sangam transformed into love between a human soul and the divine. Here Andal sends the could as her messenger to Mal of Vengadam (Thirupathi).
ஒளிவண்ணம் வளைசிந்தை உறக்கத்தோ டிவையெல்லாம்
எளிமையா லிட்டென்னை ஈடழியப் போயினவால்
குளிரருவி வேங்கடத்தென் கோவிந்தன் குணம்பாடி
அளியத்த மேகங்காள் ஆவிகாத் திருப்பேனே
My glow, color, bangles, thought and sleep
Have all left me with ease
And I am ruined!
Oh clouds bestowing rains!
I am protecting my soul by singing the praise
Of my Govindan of Vengadam with cool waterfalls!

எனது ஒளி,வண்ணம்,வளையல்,சிந்தை, உறக்கம் இவை எல்லாம்
நான் அழிய, எளிமையாக என்னை விட்டு போனது!
குளிரருவி வேங்கடத்தின் கோவிந்தன் குணம்பாடி
உயிர் காத்திருப்பேன், அள்ளித்தரும் மேகங்களே!
the symptoms described her – paleness, loss of appetite, loss of weight (resulting in thin wrist –> bangles slipping away) are due love sickness as described in Sangam literature. Typically heroine when confined and not able to meet lover or when lover is away to earn money, heroine becomes sick thinking of the Hero. In this case Andal is pining away thinking of Mal who is always away. The sickness has not completely taken over her as there is hope that Mal would come and take her away one day.
