விண்ணீல மேலாப்பு விரித்தாற்போல் மேகங்காள்
தெண்ணீர்பாய் வேங்கடத்தென் திருமாலும் போந்தானே
கண்ணீர்கள் முலைக்குவட்டில் துளிசோரச் சோர்வேனை
பெண்ணீர்மை யீடழிக்கும் இது தமக்கோர் பெருமையே
Oh clouds you spread like a blue cloth on the sky!
Have you seen Thirumal depart from Vengadam, where cool water flows?
Drops from my tears are accumulating on the peak of my breasts!
Does ruining my womanliness add to his greatness?

வானத்தின் நீல நிறத்தை மேலாடையாய் போர்த்தியத்தைப் போல் விரிகின்ற மேகங்களே,
குளிர்ந்த நீர் ஓடுகின்ற திருவேங்கடத்தான் திருமால் அங்கிருந்துப் புறப்பட்டு விட்டாரா?
கண்ணீர் துளிகள் என் மார்பின் உச்சியில் சேர்கின்றன!
என் பெண் நலத்தை அழிப்பது எவ்வாறு அவருக்குப் பெருமை சேர்க்கும்?
Think of the women deeply in love with the god. She dreams of union with her god as her lover. She has realized god in the past within her and now she is no more able to realize him. She is sad about it and sends clouds as her messenger to her lover and God of Vengadam. She hopes hearing the message he would come to fill her and have divine union.
