This is poem based out in Marutham (agricultural tract). Theme of these poems is that Thalaivan (Hero) is courting other women (could be harlots or courtesans). In this case Thalaivan goes out with his other women to bathe in fresh waters. Thalaivi’s friend (Panki) says the below poem.
Ainkurunooru 76
பைஞ்சாய்க் கூந்தல், பசு மலர்ச் சுணங்கின்
தண் புனலாடி, தன் நலம் மேம்பட்டனள்
ஒண் தொடி மடவரல், நின்னோடு,
அந்தர மகளிர்க்குத் தெய்வமும் போன்றே.
She,
who has tresses like the Korai grass
and fresh flower like beauty spots
was growing in fame.
After you have bathed with this girl
with radiant bangles
in the cool waters,
she looks like a goddess
even to the celestial women!

கோரை புள் போல் கூந்தலையும்
பசும் பூ போல் தேமலையும் கொண்ட
அவள் புகழ் பெருகிக்கொண்டே இருந்தது!
நீ ஒளி வீசும் வளையல்களை அணிந்த அவளுடன்
குளிரிந்த ஓடையில் நீராடிய பிறகு, அவள்
தேவதைகளுக்கும் தெய்வம் போல் தோன்றினால்!
Panki is fuming that the Courtesans fame was already in peak. With Thalaivan accompanying her, she will now be talk of the town and everybody will look upon her like a celebrity. Thalaivan’s moves are n more a secret it i a gossip across the city. So she will eventually tell Thalaivan don’t even think of comic near Thalaivi any time soon.
