கௌவை யஞ்சிற் காம மெய்க்கும்
எள்ளற விடினே யுள்ளது நாணே
பெருங்களிறு வாங்க முரிந்து நிலம் படாஅ
நாருடை யொசிய லற்றே
கண்டிசிற் றோழியவ ருண்டவென் னலனே.

112. What she said
Look,friend,
fear of scandal will only thin out passion.
And if I should just give up my love
to end this dirty talk,
I will be left
only with my shame.
My virgin self of which he partook
is now like a branch half broken
by an elephant,
bent,not yet fallen to ground,
still attached to the mother tree
by fiber of its bark.

தோழி, பிறர் கூறும் பழி மொழியை அஞ்சினால்,
காமம் மெலிவடையும்; பிறர் இழித்தல் அறும்படி அக்காமத்தை விட்டு விடின்,
என்பால் இருப்பது நாண மட்டுமே ஆகும்;
தலைவர் நுகர்ந்த எனது பெண்மை நலம்,
பெரியகளிறு உண்ணும் பொருட்டு வளைக்க,வளைந்து,
நிலத்திற்படாத, பட்டையை உடைய ஒடிந்த கிளையைப் போன்றது:
இதனைக் காண்பாயாக.
The Talaivi(heroine) has given in to the love passion and has had sexual union with her lover. If she stops her visits with her lover , then she will be left only with her shame because she has lost her virginity to her lover. Now her status is like branch which has been given a huge blow by an elephant(which is compare to the huge blow in their love affair by the gossips) and is sticking on to the mother tree by fiber of its bark. By this she means that she can redeem her pride only by marrying the lover. Her hope that her lover wont desert her is comapred to the fibers of the bark which holds the bark to the tree. If the hope which is so tiny as the fiber attached to the tree fails, then she is like bark which had been broken form the tree meaning she has lost all her pride and would be put shame because she has lost virginty to some person .

அஞ்சி இருந்தால் எனது காதல் வெற்றி அடைந்திருக்காது
வைரம்,
