உனது குளிர்ச்சியான இழை ஆடையடைய வரதச்சனையாக (விலையாக) கொடுத்தான் தன் நாட்டையே!

Ainkurunūru 147, Ammoovanār, Neythal Thinai – What the heroine’s friend said to the heroine
Women unable to get Gnanal flowers,
settle for its bright leaves in the sand dunes
at sandy shores of your man
who has settled for cool leaves
As he offered his whole country
as for your cool leaf garment
[your bride price – as he couldn’t offer the whole world]!

Notes:
In tribal society, it is the groom who pay bride’s family to get bride for marriage, unlike today’s and Medieval practice of women’s family paying dowry
