எனக்கு இங்கு நீ இன்பம் நல்குதல் கடினம்;
உன் வீட்டில் இருப்பவளுடன் ஒன்றுசேர புறப்பட்டு!

White – head – heron – soft feather/young ones – call – sound

நீள் வயல் நண்ணி இமிழும் ஊர!

nīḷ vayal naṇṇi imiḻum ūra!

நீண்ட வயலை அடைந்து ஒலிக்கும் ஊரினைச் சேர்ந்தவனே!

Long – paddy field – approach/draw near – sound/roar  – man from the village

எம் இவண் நல்குதல் அரிது,

em ivaṇ nalkutal aritu,

எனக்கு இங்கு நீ இன்பம் நல்குதல் கடினம்;

Our – this place – bestow/grant/desire – rare

நும் மனை மடந்தையொடு தலைப்பெய்தீமே.
