Situation: Thalaivi (Heroine) have eloped with her lover – Thalaivan (Hero). Thalaivi’s family disown her. But as time passes by they want to see how she is. Her foster mother (mother of her friend (Panki)) makes a trip to Thalaivan’s village and visits their house. Seeing their happiness she reports back to Thalaivi’s mother.

மாதர் உண்கண் மகன் விளையாடக்,
காதலித் தழீஇ இனிது இருந்தனனே,
தாது ஆர் பிரசம் ஊதும்
போது ஆர் புறவின் நாடு கிழவோனே.

பூந்தாதுக்களை உண்ணும் வண்டுகள் மொய்க்கும்
பூக்கள் நிறைந்த காடுகள் கொண்ட நாட்டின் தலைவன்

the man of the forest
Abundant with flowers where
bees hum while eating pollen
Hugs his women with kohl filled eyes
While his son plays!
